Il Poggio is located in the center of the triangle composed of the great art cities of Pisa, Florence, Siena and a few kilometers from many small towns of considerable cultural interest such as San Gimignano, Certaldo, Volterra and San Miniato.
By airplane: in Tuscany there are two international airports, Florence-Peretola, 61 km from the Poggio, and the G. Galilei airport of Pisa, 62 km away. Once you arrive at the airport you need to rent a car or use the train. The Pisa airport is directly connected to the railway, while from Florence-Peretola it is necessary to move by taxi or bus to Florence.
By car: Coming from Florence or Siena, take the Florence-Siena highway to the Poggibonsi exit; cross Poggibonsi and proceed in the direction of Gambassi Terme, then continue towards Montaione. Crossed Montaione, proceed in the direction of Pontedera-Pisa for about 4 km, then at the junction in Località Alberi turn left and proceed for another 3 km until you reach the village of Sughera where the Poggio is located.
Coming from Pisa take the highway FI-PI-LI in the direction of Florence and exit at Santa Croce sull’Arno continuing towards Ponte a Egola. Then cross the village of Serra in the direction of Montaione. About 4 km before Montaione take the junction for Sughera in the locality of Alberi; about 3 km you will find the village of Sughera where the Poggio is located.
By train: Coming from either Pisa or Florence, get off at Empoli station and take a train towards Siena; then get off at Castelfiorentino station and reach Poggio by renting a car or using the buses.
